Below you will find a brief insight into employment law:

Employment law is a special area of private law and essentially governs the relationship between employees and employers. The purpose of employment law is to balance the economic and social imbalance between employees and employers. The rights and obligations of an employee when establishing, terminating and during the course of an employment relationship are regulated in detail in the relevant employment-law statutes, such as the Salaried Employees Act. These laws are intended to protect employees from being placed at a disadvantage by their employers.

One central topic in employment law is, for example, the dismissal procedure. If a dismissal has been issued, it is always advisable to examine whether the notice of dismissal was permissible and lawfully issued. The review of whether a lawful dismissal was issued should take place without delay, because employees usually have 14 days to challenge the dismissal before the competent Labour and Social Court, for example on grounds of social unfairness.

Another important topic is the actual conduct between employees and employers. In this context, one repeatedly hears of so-called bullying or mobbing attacks. If employees feel unfairly treated or bullied by their superiors and/or colleagues, it is also advisable to have it reviewed whether bullying has actually taken place. We will be pleased to support you in the employment-law matters mentioned above or in other legal questions related to employment law.
